The gameplay is unique, and the mechanics around controlling fire are both challenging and rewarding. The art and atmosphere are stunning, making every moment feel tense and meaningful.
- Accuracy is device dependent: playing on my old tablet (Firefox for Android) the accuracy goes way down relative to playing on my desktop (Firefox for Linux).
- Also on the tablet, accuracy suffers while fast-forward is turned on. Maybe 30-50% of shots that land squarely fail to register. In combination with the accuracy difference, it's very possible to lose in the first 1-3 turns.
- Multicast doesn't appear to do anything, even with 100% multicast chance.
- Ice slow is far, far weaker than the description states.
The game is still beatable (at least on my desktop) if you're careful to avoid dud upgrades like the above, as well as Life Steal, Assassin, and Armor Shredding. Taking a bad upgrade is worse than missing out on a good upgrade, because it also worsens your future picks by putting clutter into the rotation. (Lifesteal would be fine if it capped at 15%/15%, it's removing the offensive upgrades that kills you.) (Armor Shredding is extremely good post level 60, it just doesn't help during the main game.)
I didnt know that accuracy is device dependent, maybe its just clicking accuracy as i dont see a reason why it would be different on other devices🤔 Multicast is useless though.
Also ice is much better if you upgrade your health with it as it becomes stronger that way. Have you tried using dice cards more often?
- correction, multicast does work, it's just visually [maybe functionally? not 100% sure if it interacts with blue fire / burst shot] equivalent to having higher attack speed -- basically it's a worse attack speed upgrade until you hit about 6 shots/second.
- I may be mistaken on the shot accuracy thing -- it may have just been fast-forward mode causing shots to not register on slower devices.
- at least on the currently downloadable .apk version, the ice causes no noticeable reduction in movement speed even with 1750+ health (instead of the 60%+ slowdown listed).
- I didn't realize you could reroll upgrade options once each by clicking the circle-arrow under them; this helps immensely.
- at least on the currently downloadable .apk version, shots are centered on the bottom edge of each creature; this means with 100% accuracy, even at 19.75 shot speed, almost all shots will miss the red worms moving up from the bottom of the screen.
The splash screen explicitly says it's not designed for HTML + I assume all of this stuff is fixed in the development version; just posting so it won't drive anyone else nuts.
It seems like the downloadable version is buggy/glitchy 😶 I’ve had no problems in the web version at least. Also multi shot might work but even if it did there are better upgrades like burst shot or attack speed in the game. Also the ice glitch seems to be mixed, sometimes it doesn’t work but for me ice has worked fine (besides when it glitches on some enemies and doesn’t work at all but thats a whole different story). Also accuracy ≠ bullet speed, if you have max accuracy consider upgrading bullet speed to hit the red worms, or attack speed to fire more shots in general.
TL:DR
Every version seems to have its own bugs, the game is still in development after all
If you are stuck look at this guide:
I’ve 100% completed this game. Or altleast as much as you would need to. I’ve got pretty much every upgrade in the game and became an immortal god because of the vampire card. This is also based on the itch.io version as of May 2024, NOT the experimental version.
Here is my personal ranking of each card (I forgot the exact names):
Electric card: With high attack speed can shred through crowds of monsters early-mid game. Pairs well with cards that increase the amount of bullets like multi-shot or burst shot. Its quite literally free damage and i consider it to be the best early-game card.
Orbit card: Great for overall defense, which makes it great for early game and scales with bullet damage so a good add-on if you have a high speed build already. However it does have its glaring issues, mainly its low damage/the fact that when dealing with big slimes when they split, the smaller slimes can sneak into the circle. Because of this, it forces you to prepare counter measures like lava pool or ice. Great early game but even with upgrades becomes obsolete very soon in the face of red worms (Worst enemy in the game).
lava card: Completing for the best card in the game against vampire and electric, its great for both crowds and turtles. It also bypasses enemy armor and is viable mid-late game when upgraded. If i had to name any flaws with it, its the fact that you need to invest a large amount of upgrades into it, but besides that its one of the best cards in the game. It Pairs well with cards that allow more bullets like burst shot.
Armor shredder card: This one is a mixed bag. 10% of the time it gets rid of 10% of armor which sounds good until you realize you would need to hit 100 shots just to get rid of the armor, not even considering the health. It needs to be upgraded extensively which only makes it viable late game and at that point just get the assassin card which allows you to just bypass the armor itself with an extra bonus. This card just seems useless overall and is not something i would pick.
vampire card: This might be the best card in the game 0_0. Early game its good, mid game its amazing, and late game it makes you an immortal god, especially with high attack/bullet speed. Of course it pairs well with burst shot and multi-shot but honestly you could not spend a single upgrade on this card and it could still be extremely useful. If you are running a high bullet/attack speed build this is a must have.
Critical strike card: This is a also a mixed bag, but for a different reason. Its alrightish early-maybe-mid-game since you predictably need a lot of upgrades for it to be viable (btw 80% crit chance is insane) but under the right circumstances it can be an incredible damage dealer. But the reason im confused about it is because of the blue flame card which has the same effect and when fully upgraded actually prevents this card from working at all. Do not pair this with the blue flames and overall a decent add-on (And arguably better than the blue flames early game).
Multi-shot: Honestly haven’t used this card much but it seems pretty useless in the face of burst shot (like armor shredder). It might add-on some little extra damage early-mid game but by the time you have that maxed out late game you could’ve just used those upgrades on burst shot or blue flame.
Blue flame: As i mentioned it doesn’t work with critical strike but it still isn’t a bad card and might actually be better mid-late game. Yes the critical strike card does provide a higher damage boost but the blue flame allows for high consistent damage so this is a matter of preference.
Assassin card: Another great card. Allows you to pierce through armor (making armor shredder useless) and once the enemy’s health is low enough you can insta-kill. The armor piercing is already good enough but the insta-kill is the icing on the cake. This is basically a necessity mid-late game and you can think of it as a damage boosting card.
Ice card: I hate to say it, but this is another mixed bag. At first it seems like an amazing card; it slows enemies down (which also scales with max health), making it seem like the perfect card early-late game but it has one glaring issue. A glitch. Sometimes when effecting an enemy it somehow moves the same speed and ignores the slowing effect, which could easily end a run in the case of a turtle or red caterpillar. Still, it’s a great support card overall and i still wouldn’t ignore it, it’s just not a first pick.
Burst shot card: I know I’ve been hyping this one up, but for good reason. It allows you to fire multiple shots at once (to different enemy’s, unlike multi-shot) every 50 shots (bear with me there) and pairs insanely well with pretty much every effect card. Think about it, you can damage multiple enemy’s at once with 10 bullets of electricity or lava or even ice, which practically makes you unkillable mid-late game.
Honorable mention: Dice cards These are heavily underrated and are basically the key to getting past wave 30+. Their overhated because people dont like getting warm soup or armor on full health, but they ignore its obvious benefits like giving you more cards, allowing you to upgrade much faster. In early game it gives you a good foundation by giving you early accuracy and armor cards without having to waste rounds on them. Mid game it lets you upgrade your extra cards like lava or electricity much faster while also healing, and late game it can provide you with large buffs. Overall its one of the golden strategies to win, but in the end its up to you how you want to play, this is just some overwritten guide by someone with too much time on their hands. I’ll be surprised if anyone actually reads this lol.
TL:DR
Vampire is op, Dice cards are op, orbit card is op, Burst shot is OP, become a minigun
Late game orbitals are still really good. The fact that they apply on hit effects is really good, it activates effects like vampire, statik, ice, and armor shred, and with 4 orbitals at 20 bullet speed it does so insanely fast. Btw, armor shred is absolutely good, as assassin doesn’t seem to fully bypass the endless turtles’ armor while as armor shred does. At max it gets rid of all armor after one hit, and it’s triggered by burst shot and statik, so it hits everything extremely quickly. Worst case, you take it after assassin’s armor pierce falls off and it gives you a very respectable damage boost after a little bit of scaling
I had almost forgot about orbitals applying on hit effects so they do scale with vampire, but to be honest I haven’t actually those on hit effects work with ice, static, and lava (I’ve used orbit quite a lot so maybe a glitch?). I still believe its a great card overall throughout the game, the point i was trying to make was that you just cant over rely on it. And you dont really need that much bullet speed for orbital to be OP, you can focus on adding orbs or just adding orbital damage and that works just as fine if not better (by the time you get max bullet speed its already late game and most things can tank that). By endless turtles i think you mean purple right? well at least in my experience if your already having a hard time killing the turtles that only makes assassin better as it kills them under a certain point (also for me it seem to bypass their armor for regular-red turtles). I will admit at max armor shredder does get rid of the armor but thats at max. of course its gonna be OP late game, the problem is that it takes a ridiculous amount of upgrades to get to that point and said upgrades are invaluable early-mid game. If you focus on armor shredding it will kill you early-mid game and i cant think of another card (besides maybe blue flame/crit?) that does that. Assassin on the other hand is good mid game, easy to upgrade, and also becomes OP late game. Once fully upgraded it becomes so OP that armor shredder is just obsolete. Since you are favoring late game in your comment; Armor shredder at least takes 1 shot to take off the armor of turtles and then you can attack. Meanwhile assassin can attack from the get go and insta-kills below half health. Although if your claim about it working with electric is true (I haven’t heard of that) then that might change things a bit late-game but early-mid game is a different story. It’s not hard to see which is the better card overall. Of course max Armor shredder with electric is better but there is no way you’re upgrading armor shredder to max and electric enough in a regular game without dying (which makes it only viable in endless mode). This is supposed to be a guide for beating the game not really for endless mode as you can just grab every upgrade at that point making a guide useless in the first place.
Correction, assassin armor pierce only gives incorrect amounts at earlier percentages, probably due to rounding if I had to guess. At 100% it goes through all armor, assassin is absolutely better. But as for orbital, I’ve had it do an amazing job at activating vampire ice and static. Lava, however, is an on land effect, meaning that it only activates with regular attacks, burst, multicast, etc. This is almost absolutely because of orbital, as otherwise it’d instantly form an impenetrable barrier of lava. The reason I focus so much on late game, though, is because I don’t tend to struggle with early/mid game, so long as I don’t get really unlucky with dice, but by all means that’s where orbital shines and armor shred sucks.
Stacking bullet speed is very valuable in the mid game though, as with high bullet speed, orbitals can make you effectively invincible with enough damage. So long as you target large slimes (or red caterpillars when necessary) before they reach your orbs, nothing can really get through it. Also bullet speed is just useful, as it causes you to lose less bullets when you switch targets and helps with red caterpillars which are otherwise too fast.
TBH I made the comment about orbital not knowing you could target enemies by clicking 😅. Orbital card is still overpowered for those reasons you listed above, i dont know if you thought i was trying to discredit it or anything, its still an amazing card by itself. The reason i say you dont need insane bullet speed to use orbital is that if you focus on adding small flames and damage its practically better than upgrading bullet speed. Its up to you personally whether you want to upgrade small flames themselves for them to be stronger or if you want to upgrade bullet speed (it’ll be weaker but better for you overall because of slimes and caterpillars). I’d say bullet speed is better to upgrade if your focusing on multiple cards, but if your focusing on orbital upgrade those corresponding cards first. Also you really shouldn’t run Armor shredder or assassin early game because those enemies dont really have armor (also i haven’t been effected by that assassin armor glitch) and assassin at lower percentages is still better than armor shredder at lower percentages.
Don’t get me wrong, the armor glitch isn’t significant in any way. It’s just that at 95% armor pierce you’re only piercing, like, 80%. And all I was doing with orbs was trying to give more examples of why it’s so good
Great game had a lot of fun with the updates and survived a few rounds which was also really cool! I made a video to raise some more awareness of the game -
i have gotten so far in this game that i am on round 168 with all skills and it has gotten to a point where there will be a random +e at the end of my heal
There are no official updates yet. However, you can join our discord to check out the experimental versions. The most recent one has a ton of new enemies, skills and even characters
The Android version is good, but there are not enough settings. Also, the game is very difficult if you do not have enough luck to obtain the required skills. I hope that you download the update for everything that you described in the description of the game. So far, I do not see anything wrong with a very small part of what you talked about.
i agree that at 100% accuracy i miss alot, i can think of two fixes, one being that the flame explosion lands on the enemy you are targeting 100% of the time or to increase the hit-box size of the targeted enemy. i think increasing the size of the targeted enemy's hit-box would also help with round one bc i remember a while ago i died round one due to bad accuracy. or just keep it how it is, this is just feedback.
I can tell you that the game is not abandoned, however, new releases aren't being yet released on itch because they are purely experimental. If you want to try them they are completely free on the discord. Maybe the bug that you reported about accuracy is fixed already
wish I could, but I can't download games, I can only play on browser itch.io games. i'm sure you'll take it somewhere and fix the subtle bugs and balance. also cheat codes would be nice to test limits and just have fun.
The game is very fun but there is a problem that makes it unplayable. Whenever I reach 100% accuracy, the fire starts to miss everything! If I get 50% he hardly makes mistakes but with 100% he makes almost everything wrong. I believe it's a bug because it doesn't make any sense for this to happen.
I don't think that can be the case because it also increases the bullet speed, I try to keep it from 7x to more but even so, if it reaches 100% accuracy the Flame starts to make mistakes
The multicaster shots aren't different from the others, so maybe you aren't seeing them correctly or maybe its a bug indeed. Try the windows or android version and see if it works better. Might be a web problem
I really like this game probably better than the experimental version, actually. I just have some things to suggest: For the frost fire, does it actually only slow down enemies for 1 second? (when it is not upgraded) because even right when you get the upgrade, the enemies are still encased in ice after 1 second, so could you make the ice go away after the certain amount of time?. Also, I have 2 ideas for new upgrades that you could add. 1. An upgrade to get bigger fireballs, so that they can hit more enemies at once, and possibly do more damage. Also: just an idea you could make it like when the fireballs are big enough, they create craters, like a meteor, they does more damage or maybe slows enemies down because they have to walk through it. 2. This upgrade would probably be really good, so I think you could make it one of the purple upgrades that appear on lvl 60. (it only appears on lvl 60). Hypnotism, so enemies can attack each other, and maybe they do like 20% of damage they would do to the wildfire.
Please consider my ideas! Also if you do add them in, can you also add them in this version? I play this one more so I'd prefer that. I know you said this version is like a year and a half old, so...
Hello thanks for playing and for the feedback! If the Ice is still remaining even after the duration it was supposed to last then its most likely a bug which was present in this v1.1. I saw that you said you preferes the version on this site (v1.1) more than the experimental (v1.4), could you elaborate on that thought so I can better understand why you like the earlier version more?
The experimental version is a lot harder, and I actually don't usually complete the whole tree because some of the upgrades I wouldn't use, like the plant one where I flower ponds? I think it is that but I forgot. and if I don't unlock them then I will have a better chance of getting the ones I want, (I like immolate and regeneration the most). Also, this version, it is more fun because I can go to like round 730 :) that was my high score before I had to restart my computer :( Maybe you can add a save option? Like a unique code for each game and you can save that in the menu option or something? Also the beavers in the experimental version make It really hard because they take so much of my max health and I have to defeat almost all of them every round, but like for the squirrels, I can let them leave the screen if my regeneration is upgraded enough, then their acorns won't do much.
Wow, so the developer is inconsiderate with a lack of good judgement and will antagonize you even despite the fact they've been pretty nice, open to feedback/criticism, and is open to general questions. Plus to only be able to get versions through the Discord is a way to get more followers? That's how you build a community, people who greatly enjoy the game will want to keep in touch with it much like myself. You are fine posting the experimental link I would assume but in doing so for the sake of the developer trying to build a community and criticizing them for trying to build a community just makes you look stupid. I mean no disrespect to you, it's brutal honesty.
There's another Roguelite game out there called Dataminer that does a similar thing to this where new versions are released in the devs Discord server, to which after he completes a full update he updates the Itch.io page for the game. This is so they don't release buggy/broken versions out to the public and it's mainly for basic testing.
Another thing, literally your entire criticism section is complaining about how a Roguelite works. Roguelike/Roguelite games are meant to be difficult, and frustrating, complex, etc. They are meant to put you on edge because they are meant to be very challenging games that involve strategy to an extent. If you go in without a plan or any idea what you're doing you won't last long.
And above all else, the developer in this situation is clearly the better person. Yes you did provide a lot of feedback for the game and quite a lot of bias as well. You can't please everyone as no game is perfect. If you're going to criticize a game and give feedback on it you're better off doing it in a well respect manner that's not too lengthy. From what I saw you were pretty into the game and really liked it, but this post attacking the developer? The developer didn't do anything wrong, you've just insulted the developer for practically no reason. Shame on you.
I didn't feel like discerning the two at the time so I just put them side by side. But a Roguelite is essentially just handicapped Roguelike. Taking the whole permadeath and lose everything ideal then throwing it out the window by giving the player benefits to some capacity that stay past "death."
Correct. I have yet to check out the latest versions on their Discord but I think it's been turned into a roguelite. I don't know if this is correct but the few things I've seen seem to suggest that.
After I obtained 100% accuracy, I increased the bullet speed to x12, but it meant I was missing the targets, oddly by some sort of delay. Why have separate stats for attack speed and bullet speed, especially if increasing one of them negatively affects accuracy? I'm using the HTML5 version. Is that why this game doesn't work properly when I do this? Now I hate bullet speed, not knowing what the point of it is if my attack speed isn't increased and the damage isn't increased. It's like having a faster bullet without any benefits of having a faster bullet. Quite the opposite, actually, since for some reason an increase in bullet speed makes me miss quite a lot despite having 100% accuracy.
Bullet Speed doesn't affect your accuracy and its quite useful for faster enemies. In this version of the game particularly, Bullet Speed is a must for Red Catterpillars. Furthermore, if you have more Bullet Speed you will waste less Fire Balls on targets that are already dead which increases your overall DPS. Moreover, some skills like Orbital Flames do scale with Bullet Speed. I recommend you to join our Discord, there will be a new version releasing between today and tomorrow with tons of new stuff
Well, thank you, but it did seem when I was playing and increased the bullet speed that I was missing A LOT. I think bullet speed was at x12 and it's like the bullets landed a split second after they should have.
By the way, I stayed up until 4 am last night playing this game, I found it so addicting. I had to realize it was stupid to stay up later to get myself to go to bed.
Actually, I'm playing right now, and the problem may not be accuracy so much as projectiles don't land. It's like there are more projectiles coming down than there are ones landing anywhere. It's like half or more of them make no difference and do nothing. Maybe bullet speed doesn't affect accuracy so much as outpace impacts or the rate of impact. Maybe with slower bullet speed, more bullets actually hit targets. And with higher bullet speed, some or most impacts are "skipped". It's a real problem and reduces the effectiveness and enjoyability of the game. I hope this helps, as this game is actually quite addicting. It would be much more addicting if upgrades didn't degrade the effectiveness or performance of the gameplay, though.
I'm sorry but after my recent realization that bullet speed actually decreases the number of impacts per bullet, it sort of ruins the game for me. I was already avoiding the random selections last night to avoid increasing bullet speed, but today using them again in accordance with what you said just made it so much worse again. Imagine upgrading bullet speed and the bullets outpacing impacts. That's what I believe is happening. I'm not going to rate this game. I hope you fix it so that maybe I'll find it again and enjoy it as it was meant to be enjoyed, with the upgrades working properly.
Im not sure I understand your thing with Bullet Speed since its the first time Im hearing this. You should try the new version that released on Discord today (its completely free) and tell me if that still happens or not
I probably should have mentioned this sooner. I'm using a Chromebook and so I can't download, install, and play the latest version off Discord. I've also found Discord frustrating, at least as far as searching for groups or other content. It's weird that way. I'll try the web/HTML5 version again, though. I don't understand why I'd get this unusual experience, though, unless the browser version isn't as good as the Windows version. You gave a warning at startup and suggest the Windows version, so there's that. On the bright side, I do believe if it were working as expected it would be an extremely addicting game.
The latest version are only on discord, the version you are playing is almost 1 year old. On Discord there are updated versions for Windows, Web and Android, you can just go there and pick them up to see if it is fixed
I'd like to point out that, after going through all possible upgrades (or as close as I got to finding all of them through resetting then exploring each thread with 27000 embers) that regeneration, multicaster (and its connected upgrades), and possibly critical strike are the only ones that seem worth investing in at this point. At least that will give me three good options to choose from at the outset of a new game, and I can choose regeneration to start and the others later. While strategy might be part of any good game, in a tower defense game, it seems just a little out of place to be able to buy so many different upgrades that might interfere with getting useful upgrades, making the game LESS playable and LESS enjoyable.
Not trying to sound mean or ungrateful. I'm still playing because I see a way to do better, get further, and gain the sense of accomplishment playing video games gives me :-)
This game feels stupid. If I focus on targeting, I won't have enough power or speed to hit anything and prevent being destroyed in the meantime. It's a bit stupid because if it takes five or six upgrades to get 100% accuracy, I have little speed or power or anything else. I did choose the multicaster instead of regeneration to start this time but because I was so concerned about survival, I didn't take any upgrades after that. Think about it: If you were a marksman with a bow and arrow or a gun, would accuracy be more important than power and speed? YES. By starting with such terribly accuracy (an unbelievable 0%), you've really crippled the game from the start, giving new and experienced players alike a handicap to work against, and it turns out this handicap at the start keeps them handicapped for the rest of the game, since if they do upgrade accuracy, they're not upgrading anything else that actually kills enemies! And you've made it SO BAD that if a player chooses targeting/accuracy whenever presented with the option, they'll die because they're not shooting enough weak fireballs or the few fireballs they do shoot are too weak!
To make a game challenging, you shouldn't just give players exactly what they want so they don't even have to try. But there is a difference between making a game challenging and taking all the fun out of it by making it an exercise in nonsensical desperation, which YOU set up. I think you may have made this game so "challenging" that you've almost begun to border an antagonistic with a hint of sadism. You do understand that this is a game, right? Did you want this game to be fun and enjoyable? Did you want players to want to play your game? Do you want them to get any positive feedback or sense of accomplishment in playing? Then maybe allow them to progress in the game without repeating the same stupid steps that you made necessary only to find that they weren't balancing out more relevant steps because you'd started them off with 0% accuracy/targeting and dealing with that crap seemed compelling enough not to yet worry about stuff like attack speed and power.
This is even before concerning myself with any of the "extra" upgrades available to my IF I earn enough "embers" to purchase them, their differing levels, and the subsequent upgrades made available. How useful and "fun" is any game where such a large part of the strategy is to cut out 80% of the upgrades and control things so what I'm doing is simplified enough that I might actually be able to focus on KILLING the enemies?
Maybe you haven't focused enough on making the game fun and focused too much on making the game difficult. Personally, I hate modern Mario games for being cartoonish and for making it too easy to play and win. Classic Super Mario gave you a finite number of lives and you had to discover how to get a much larger number. You also had to learn how to take shortcuts if you wanted to win the game quickly, but if you went through all the levels, there were only pauses and timing to worry about, and if you died once, you didn't start over completely because you had more than one life.
If I die in your game, I have to start over, crippled again, and up for the same disappointing, time-consuming, slow action that's like a never-ending preamble to something that never happens. Losing this game should be my fault because I actually made bad choices, not because your choices as the game developer were so restrictive and so counter to the interests of players, that you've actually set up a greater way to make the game more difficult and less fun with UPGRADES that are worth less than the upgrades available by default, crowding out more useful options!
Why don't you figure out what kind of game you WANT this to be? Is this game at least fun for you? If I'm not mistaken, Mario Maker makes creators complete their levels before they're allowed to upload them for others. If playing your game is nearly as unpleasant for you as it is for me, maybe you should consider changing it so that I'm not sent back to grade 1 because the sex ed aspect of Physical Education turned out to be a written exam instead of a hands on one. That's one metaphor for what you've done with your game. You've made me think and try so hard for so little reward that I'm actually a bit angry with you for turning a game I found addicting into one filled with the less pleasurable kind of dick moves.
Really nice so far, beat it on the third attempt. I'm looking forward to the extended versions you teased. Bug I can confirm is that you tend to die if you switch tabs, apparently even if you are on the upgrade selection screen between rounds. On that note, a pause button would be nice.
I get why devs release and foster communities on discord, it's probably much more fun and engaging developing software this way, particularly if you do it for free. But personally I hate joining random discords, decoding the room layout and custom lingo and all this knowing I won't engage long term anyway because it stresses me out to have a gazillion notifications about chats in an ephemeral medium that want's me to constantly engage. My discord is a graveyard and I dread logging in.
Well, sorry for ranting in your general direction, as I said I understand that this is a me problem. But if I may I'd humbly ask to please upload some newer version once you are at a release you are happy with here for those grumpy people like me that are very tired of joining a discord.
The discord versions are experimental, each version tests an additional element (v1.2 Skill Tree, v1.3 30 New Enemies, and v1.4 Playable Characters), so they are not fully playable, thats why Im not uploading it onto itch.io. There will be another version coming to itch in the future but it will only be a demo of the final release to gather wishlists on steam. My advice would be to join the discord and mute general notifications, I only ping the interested players once a new version drops (every ~3 months). And you dont really need to interact as well, some people only go there to grab the free versions and dont even give feedback, others have highly detailed discussions about game design, its up to you
fun game! replayability is ehh, creepy silence (no sfx??), died on round 0 because i didnt know what to do- very fun!! i wish that the ability cards or whatever they're called like adjusted to your weaknesses? if thats not too difficult
Seems like sometimes when you click off the screen you just die for some reason? Like maybe monsters keep walking but you stop shooting? Anyways I guess I should have stopped at 212 anyways.... great game very addicting! And I'm just playing the janky web itch.io version!
Hey thank you for playing! If u want, join the discord, the are some experimental versions with a lot more content. Im even gonna deploy v1.3 (which has a lot of new enemies) there in a few weeks. Enjoy!
They are experimental versions, by having a discord community Im able to gather more personal data about what I need. For example, Im going to deploy v1.3 on discord later this week, and it has a big focus on new enemies. If I were to release that on itch.io, people would almost never give me feedback on the new enemies.

Thanks for game. i Like it.
The gameplay is unique, and the mechanics around controlling fire are both challenging and rewarding. The art and atmosphere are stunning, making every moment feel tense and meaningful.
Dev, PLEASE MAKE AN UPDATE OF THIS GAME I BEG YOU I WILL SELL MY SOUL IF I HAVE TO PLEASE MAKE AN UPDATE
For anyone else playing the web version:
TL:DR Every version seems to have its own bugs, the game is still in development after all
did you make the experimental version worse because when I go to it its the skill tree is different from the images above.
TL:DR Vampire is op, Dice cards are op, orbit card is op, Burst shot is OP, become a minigun
TL:DR Armor is still worse, orbit is still op
And all I was doing with orbs was trying to give more examples of why it’s so good
The controls are hard for me 2 figure out, I miss most of my fireballs. T--T
there aren’t any, the game is automatic. You can increase your accuracy as you play
oh ty I thought it was my mouse being weird.
I thought the same thing lol. The only controls are clicking on enemies to target them and pressing k to end your run (die)
I didn’t know you could click on enemies 😗 So many deaths from red caterpillars could’ve been avoided 😭
если добавить тени блебам и жучкам всяким то картинка станет значительно лучше
Sometimes when you switch tabs or scroll down you instantly die🥲
The enemies continue to move but you don’t continue to attack them while the game is off screen, from what I’ve gathered
When you have multi cast you can still get upgrades that increase the chance to multi cast
All of the abilities like multicast, burst shot, orbital flames, etc, have upgrades that you can get as you level so that they gain in strength
If you die or press K while the game is paused then you are softlocked.
Is there any chance you could post a link to the experimental version here?
found a glitch
This version is quite old so maybe it was already patched. You can try to replicate it in the newer version tho
salvador when will the new version release on itch io?
Great game had a lot of fun with the updates and survived a few rounds which was also really cool! I made a video to raise some more awareness of the game -
another thing, you really need to find a way to debuff the random arguments card that got me all that way
i have gotten so far in this game that i am on round 168 with all skills and it has gotten to a point where there will be a random +e at the end of my heal
you should definitely try the experimental versions, they are a tiny bit more challenging
When's the next update??? I'm loving this game so far and the next update looks great.
There are no official updates yet. However, you can join our discord to check out the experimental versions. The most recent one has a ton of new enemies, skills and even characters
NICE! Will do. Can I have the invite link?
https://discord.gg/nvmJcgpHEq
thx
guys how can i play if i got it downloaded?
Your browser does not support graphics API "WebGL 2" which is required for this content.
F###
that suckkkks it a very fun game :(
The Android version is good, but there are not enough settings. Also, the game is very difficult if you do not have enough luck to obtain the required skills. I hope that you download the update for everything that you described in the description of the game. So far, I do not see anything wrong with a very small part of what you talked about.
Does This Game Have Sound Or Is It Just Silent?
No yet
i agree that at 100% accuracy i miss alot, i can think of two fixes, one being that the flame explosion lands on the enemy you are targeting 100% of the time or to increase the hit-box size of the targeted enemy. i think increasing the size of the targeted enemy's hit-box would also help with round one bc i remember a while ago i died round one due to bad accuracy. or just keep it how it is, this is just feedback.
this only happens when sped up btw
yo salvador, do you update this on itch ever. all the games i play on itch get abandoned
There are web versions on the discord as well
good to know but my school chrome book has discord blocked.
I can send you the link details via email if you want
absolutely love this game
ps: you should really add some speed modes so the game runs faster
How much bullet speed do you have? Maybe the shots aren’t reaching the contact point fast enough. Could that be it?
I don't think that can be the case because it also increases the bullet speed, I try to keep it from 7x to more but even so, if it reaches 100% accuracy the Flame starts to make mistakes
uhh i don't think the multicast works. I got it up to a 30 percent chance and never got a double shot once. :/
The multicaster shots aren't different from the others, so maybe you aren't seeing them correctly or maybe its a bug indeed. Try the windows or android version and see if it works better. Might be a web problem
be carefull time eating machine
I just got gold upgrades for the very first stage. All four were gold upgrades. Is that a record?
Yo salvador can you send me an invite to the server? The link isnt working for me. My discord is commentator_of_things
https://discord.gg/JRY9XreRVP Try this one
Discord links never work. Probably cause im on mobile. :/
I know you said this version is like a year and a half old, so...
anyways, bye!
Excuse me but... Is a roguelite not an easier roguelike? Not to be rude
I didn't feel like discerning the two at the time so I just put them side by side. But a Roguelite is essentially just handicapped Roguelike. Taking the whole permadeath and lose everything ideal then throwing it out the window by giving the player benefits to some capacity that stay past "death."
so this is a roguelike not a roguelite
Correct. I have yet to check out the latest versions on their Discord but I think it's been turned into a roguelite. I don't know if this is correct but the few things I've seen seem to suggest that.
Okay. I'm ready to rate this game.
Yknow. That kinda sounds like a skill issue.
there should be an upgrade that make the fire have a :3 face and does nothing else
oh you mean like one of the upcoming characters in v1.4 (releasing an experimental version on discord in about two weeks)
Really nice so far, beat it on the third attempt. I'm looking forward to the extended versions you teased. Bug I can confirm is that you tend to die if you switch tabs, apparently even if you are on the upgrade selection screen between rounds. On that note, a pause button would be nice.
hey, you can check the discord for the latest versions. This is v1.1, on the discord there are releases up to v1.3, and in a few weeks 1.4
And you dont really need to interact as well, some people only go there to grab the free versions and dont even give feedback, others have highly detailed discussions about game design, its up to you
will this update soon
Check the discord for the experimental versions. This is version 1.1, on discord there's already v1.3 and soon soon 1.4
will it be posted here thoe as i like to play idle games via a browser
there are browser versions on discord as well, but I must advise you that the final game wont be available for the web
oh why not?
the final release will be about 5€ and there arent any gaming platforms that I know of that sell for web
died on rnd 1
How?
rng was soo bad bro
Damn
fun game! replayability is ehh, creepy silence (no sfx??), died on round 0 because i didnt know what to do- very fun!! i wish that the ability cards or whatever they're called like adjusted to your weaknesses? if thats not too difficult
Enjoy!
why do you release updates on Discord?
They are experimental versions, by having a discord community Im able to gather more personal data about what I need. For example, Im going to deploy v1.3 on discord later this week, and it has a big focus on new enemies. If I were to release that on itch.io, people would almost never give me feedback on the new enemies.
